A friend who lives nearby recommended Backwoods Crossing for dinner and it did not disappoint! We were pleasantly surprised by how quickly we got served, especially considering how busy they were. We lucked out with a high-top table available so didn’t have to wait to seat. Our waitress was wonderful. She was attentive, kept the table clean throughout our meal (something I really appreciate), and even pointed out the “fourth cow” hidden on the back label of our bottle of wine. 😂 We ordered several appetizers, including the famous crab 🦀 balls. Definitely eat them with the green onion. It really brings all the flavors together. The basil 🌿 buttons 🍄‍🟫 were full of flavor, the pesto alone paired with the tomato slice was so good that I could honestly eat that combination as an appetizer all by itself! I really enjoyed the Caprese 🍅 salad, while my husband loved the Caesar 🥗 salad. Before we left, I grabbed a slice of key lime 🍋‍🟩 pie to go, and it was absolutely delicious.

Absolutely love the concept of this place. Lots of great things to see in the surrounding gardens. The menu is creative. Had the bread pudding for dessert and it is one of the two best bread puddings I've ever had. As in they're tied. The Grits underneath the jalapeno catfish bites. We got the ribeye pinwheel special which was okay but had quite a bit of drizzle and fought in the portion we had. The sauce was okay. The crab soup had lots of crab in it but lacked a bit of richness. The salad with a creamy bacon dressing with freshly prepared and tasty. Overall we gave it an average of a 4 but the bread pudding is a 5 plus plus. I would drive to this place just to have that bread pudding again.

My wife and I were given a gift card from our kids to try this restaurant. All I can say is WOW. Service was fantastic, friendly and very informative. We had the crab ball appetizer one of best we’ve ever had. Wife had the salad which was huge and ranch dressing tasted homemade, had strawberries, apples, sunflower seeds, spinach and more. I had the portabella burger which was fantastic, not sure what sauce was used but it was great. Definitely worth a trip and stop. Our kids are moving about 2 miles from this restaurant we will definitely be back numerous times.

One of the coolest restaurants we have ever been to! They were packed on Saturday night, which is a good sign that the food will be great. The wait was about 30 minutes BUT it flew by because you can walk around the garden and see all the animals. They use the herbs, fruit and veggies from the garden for the food they create, a true farm to table experience. From the host stand to the server, all service was impeccable. I had the cheeseburger and it was delicious. It was the perfect date night. We can’t wait to come back!

Backwoods Crossing is one of those places that instantly feels warm & inviting. It is quaint & cozy without feeling packed too tightly. The menu has great variety & the fact that they grow so much of their own produce really shows… everything tastes freshhhhh in the best way. We started with the Jalapeño Catfish Bites over Creamy Grits…. Was truly delightful! Just the right amount of kick, not overwhelming, and the grits smooth that out nicely. I ordered the “Big Foot” which is slow smoked pork loin topped with bourbon glazed Granny Smith apples over bourbon sweet mash for $38. The portion was HUGE… the piece of pork was honestly the size of my head. The mashed sweet potatoes were DELISHHH & the bourbon caramelized apples were top notch. My husband ordered the lamb chops with rosemary mashed potatoes & asparagus for $40. The mashed potatoes were creamy & rich, the asparagus was perfectly soft yet crunchy… everything tasted great but the lamb portion was very small… only two lamb chops.
